Netherlands client server nexus.nl.eu.mixxnet.net will be undergoing maintenance on April 4th, 2015 starting at 8:00 AM CET / 7:00 AM GMT / 2:00 AM Eastern USA. This server will be removed from production in advance and our other client servers will be operating normally during Nexus' maintenance window. Clients connected to Nexus will be disconnected during this maintenance window.

In conjunction with the World IPv6 Day, the MIXXnet website is now available via IPv6! We also continue to offer IRC access through IPv6 at irc.ipv6.mixxnet.net, and will be adding IPv6 capability to more of our client servers very soon.
MIXXnet is currently planning some major upgrades to our IRC server software which is scheduled for Tuesday March 15, 2011 at 01:00 EST / 06:00 GMT / 07:00 CET. To learn more about the upgrades and actions that channel operators should take, please visit the IRCd 2.0 Upgrade wiki article.
There are currently two maintenance periods scheduled over the next several days that may impact parts of our US network.
1) On the morning of July 2, 2009 between the hours of 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM Eastern, one of our US datacenters will be doing some core router upgrades which may result in in some intermittent connectivity issues throughout the maintenance window. This will mainly affect users of tnt.il.us.mixxnet.net and may also result in a few netsplits as things are re-routed.
2) On July 6, 2009 between 2:30 AM and 4:30 AM Eastern one of our USA client servers will be down for a brief period of time for server maintenance. This will only impact users of tnt.il.us.mixxnet.net, and users will be redirected to alternate servers during the downtime.

One of our US datacenters will be performing some network maintenance on the morning of Friday November 21, 2008 between the hours of 1:00 AM and 4:00 AM Eastern USA time. During this maintenance window there will be a few brief netsplits on IRC as the servers relink themselves to alternate hubs. The client server tnt.il.us.mixxnet.net will also be affected, so users of that server are encouraged to re-connect to another server for this maintenance.
We will be here as always during the maintenance window to make sure everything goes smoothly.
MIXXnet is pleased to announce that our 2008 upgrades and migration to InspIRCd have been completed! The whole process went very smooth and all the changes are now running on the main network. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us in #help.

MIXXnet has announced a planned date for our 2008 upgrades and IRCd migration to take place (October 26, 2008). For full details including special actions that channel operators may need to take before then, please visit the 2008 Upgrades wiki article.
MIXXnet is currently working on some changes and improvements as part of our 2008 upgrades. We now have a test network up for users to connect to and check out our upcoming setup. MIXXnet's main US datacenter will be undergoing network maintenance on the morning of Saturday April 12, 2008 between the hours of 03:00 and 04:00 Eastern USA time (07:00-08:00 GMT). This will mainly affect services (NickServ, ChanServ, etc) and tnt.il.us.mixxnet.net. The downtime associated with this maintenance is expected to be under 30 minutes, and we will re-route things in advance to minimize any impact.
We will be here as always monitoring this maintenance, re-routing servers, and being available to help should anyone require assistance. Thanks for your patience.
Our main US hub network will be undergoing network maintenance on February 11, 2008 between the hours of 22:00 and 00:00 (Tue) Eastern USA time. This will also affect tnt.il.us.mixxnet.net. While no complete outages are expected, various network carriers will be going up and down during the maintenance window and may cause some timeouts or netsplits. A complete but brief outage is also possible during maintenance windows.
As always, we will be here monitoring the maintenance and will be ready to immediately re-route things if necessary. Thanks for your patience.
After over 450 days of uptime, anjuna.il.us.mixxnet.net will be undergoing hardware maintenance on January 15, 2007. There will be a 1-4 hour floating maintenance window between 16:00 and 23:59 Central USA time for hard drive and OS updates. We have already taken Anjuna out of the "irc.mixxnet.net" loop, so downtime will be minimal.
We strongly encourage users to set their IRC clients to use "irc.mixxnet.net" instead of individual servers. "irc.mixxnet.net" will always be updated with the most stable servers.
MIXXnet is planning relinking maintenance to get network routing back to normal after brief network issues at our main US hub's datacenter on 10-22-06. This maintenance will happen between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM Eastern USA time (7:00 AM - 8:00 AM GMT) on October 23, 2006.
Downtime will be very brief and will only last a few seconds while servers relink.
After our web and main DNS server suffered a hard drive failure, our main DNS server had some problems with restoring the data. We now know that for some reason, DNS entries are not backed up with the daily cPanel backups. Right after restoring the account and the website data, we realized the DNS entries were gone and immediately put in the correct records, but it was too late. cPanel had already automatically changed the DNS of "irc.mixxnet.net" to a very incorrect IP address and set a very high TTL (4 hours).
New connections to "irc.mixxnet.net" for the next few hours will not be available. We're very sorry about the inconvenience, but we did everything we could to prevent a problem. In the meantime, please use one of the following IPs to connect to MIXXnet:
