MIXXnet Server Application

MIXXnet is always looking for help with new servers. If you would like to help us by donating a server, please answer the following questions and we will get back to you ASAP.

Requirements:
- A stable BSD or Linux dedicated/colocated server that you or your organization has full control of (no public web hosting/shell servers or accounts, no Windows please).
- A stable multi-homed network. No Cogent please.
- Ability to run IRC on ports 6667 and 6697. Ports 6669 and 7000 are desired, but not required.
- A dedicated IP address for the IRC daemon
- Shell access to our account for installation, maintenance, changing server routing/linking, upgrades, etc
- Development tools such as gcc/g++, Perl, and PCRE.
- Subversion and git installed or the ability for us to compile and run them
- A synchronized system clock via NTP
- This server must be yours or authorized by the owner to run a server for MIXXnet.
- Server must not be overloaded. We do not require the server to be completely dedicated to MIXXnet, but we need sufficient resources to function.
- Advance notification of all scheduled server or network maintenance so we can minimize downtime by removing the server from rotation
- Access to inbound/outbound ping and traceroute.

At MIXXnet, stability and security is our number one priority. The above requirements of stable hardware, operating system, and network are to ensure the best experience for all MIXXnet users.

Upon submitting this application, we will perform traceroutes and pings from various locations to get a feel for your server's routing and how it will perform on our network. We REALLY appreciate you wanting to help MIXXnet, however since stablity is extremely important, we may not be able to accept every server for various reasons. Main criteria for server additions are routing to our hubs, network reliability/performance, and hardware stability.
